Music Choice
We had a few ideas for music, however they were already written pieces of music. Max emailed some people about getting the permission to use the music in our film. After a few shared emails, we were asked to fill in some forms. Therefore we didn't want to go through this process of filling out forms when we had more important things to get on with. We then dicussed it and thought that it would be more creative to make our own music. We asked one of the music teachers to help us create the piece we were looking for. He watched our film opening and in doing so, started playing the piano. The music sounded great and matched our film really well. However, we then decided that we wanted to change our opening scene to a brand new location, meaning different shots, different timing etc. Once we had filmed our second attempt, we wanted to ask the music teacher if it was possible to adjust the music to the new film. Unfortunately, when we got back to school after the Christmas holidays, the music teacher was not teaching at our school anymore, therefore we could not use him to create a new, adjusted piece of music. We then dicussed as a group what we should do and decided that our only option was to use Garage Band. I was in charge of the music as I am able to play an instrument. However, I did need help from Max because i was unsure how to use Garage Band. I found it hard because you were obviously limited to the choices of music that you had in Garage Band. Despite this, we were playing around with the music and decided that a simple piano melody would work well. Our music is simply two different piano melody's blended together which creates tension to the film. The music fades out in one scene where the two characters are running - this is to create more tension. I think the music works really well and matches the film's tone. It helps to create the exact emotion that we wanted it to.

It's coming on. Get some videos and links embedded. Perhaps some music ideas- tracks which sound similar etc. Do a tension graph- remember the plot points graph you did with Mr holmes?
ReplyDeleteYou are getting there.
